a little bit about how we got here...

Heyy, Kaliopi here (Kali is fine) and I thank you in advance for visiting my little venture.

Nibbles etc. was created initially to share my love of food and how food has the ability to bring people together.

Coming from a Greek background and a big family, growing up I was always surrounded with love, family and food.

For as long as I can remember I have always loved being in the kitchen; whether it be cooking, experimenting or being creative - the kitchen has always been the place in my home that gave me the feeling of peace and comfort.

When I was old enough to, at family events I would opt to make the fruit platters and that's where my interest in grazing platters really started.

The first ever cheese board I recall enjoying was from a little bar on Peel Street; on this wooden board was a handful of crackers, a small ramekin of cornichons and a wedge of Brebirousse d'Argental; a delicious washed rind brie that just melts in your mouth and to this day is a favourite of mine.

As I got confident I would start making grazing platters instead of fruit platters and eventually I thought of the possibility of being able to create boxes/platters for other people so that they could enjoy them with their loved ones as much as I do with mine.

In April of 2021 I was driving home and was thinking of names that I could call my non-existent venture, and then it hit me - nibbles! Because what do you do with a grazing platter? You nibble at it! Once the name was created everything else just kind of fell into place, adding the "etc." onto the end enabled me to explore other areas of food that I could eventually implement.

As time has gone by I have been able to grow from boxes to tables and implement so much more than I initially envisioned whilst also taking pride in utilising local suppliers as much as I can and have loved the relationships created with others in similar industries. 

​

At the moment nibbles is run by me myself and I, with help from some very very supportive and understanding family members and friends.

​
